“For a long time, the rise of the far right and growing divisions in Europe concerned me deeply.”
I’m an industrial PhD student at the Center for Emergency Communications, with a background in telecommunication.
For a long time, the rise of the far right and growing divisions in Europe concerned me deeply. I wanted to volunteer, but with so many important causes like climate change, homelessness, animal welfare etc. it was hard to choose just one.
That’s when I came across Volt. Even though I couldn’t vote for them in Denmark their approach resonated with me. Volt doesn’t make you choose between economic and social progress. They stand for a united Europe, a healthier environment, and even a single European army. As someone who has never felt particularly aligned with any of the Danish parties, Volt offered something fresh and forward-thinking.
Sometimes, the right opportunity comes at the right time. For me, it was a few months after moving to my new place and starting my new position.
I applied and soon after becoming a member, I realized it was a lot of fun! I met a lot of people, who were inspiring, hard working and maybe surprisingly, positive!
At that moment, I knew Volt was something different from the other parties and that I had found my home.
I'm hoping to help build a community, not just in Denmark or the Nordics, but in all of Europe.
